Practice for Summer

Today it was 85 degrees in Chicago and pretty humid, so I broke out my first pair of shorts for the summer. I spent most the day around the house working on somethings and ran a few errands. This outfit doesn't really feel worth showing off but I thought it would be nice to show something super casual and simple. I'm serving you awkward faces, big thighs, and backrolls! How you doing?

It was about 80 degrees in Chicago today so I decided to wear this high/low skirt and finally break out my cambridge satchel. I wore this to lunch and a movie with a friend of mine. I don't really like movies, but The Avengers was pretty cool.

In case you care, I changed my hair little by adding some brown to the bottom this time. From the front it almost gives a ombre like effect. For my weave girls it's Bobbi Boss Indi Remi in 1b on the top and 30 on the bottom.

Excuse the lighting in these photos. My attached flash was acting crazy and my face and arm looks really light in some photos.

What is Clown Fashion?

The internet can be a source of information that educates, provides opportunities, and changes the lives of many. But it can also be the source of ridicule; I have experienced that ridicule first hand. I have been told by many people, both online and in real life, that I need to go on "What Not to Wear" or that I look like a clown. It can be a struggle to be live as your authentic self when you are picked on by others, so rather then assimilate I choose to embrace looking like clown and wear whatever I like.

I came up with the phrase clown fashion to describe my style and embrace looking unique, but I hope that clown fashion can encourage you to. Clown fashion is about embracing print, pattern, textures and color in anyway you see fit.

Amanda Whitelaw of Hungry Designs was nice enough to create the image above of me( I know I'm not that small) dressed like a clown with the phrase, "Clown Fashion means being who you are no matter how crazy you look".  So you guys that have been asking know what I mean when I say clown fashion. Yay!

I have set up a Spread Shirt store  here and you can buy clown fashion shirts in women's sizes small to 3x for now.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks for supporting this blog! :-)

There really isn't much to say here unfortunately. This is something I wore to school a while ago and am finally taking photos of.  It's really casual and I hope you like it although I don't feel like these photos do it justice - It kind of looks better in person. More pictures of me looking less butch and femme in dresses and skirts soon! TTFN! #teamflatass #clownfashion
