Designer Interview Series: Monif Clarke of Monif C Plus Sizes

This is part 3 to the designer interview series. Because there a whole new crop of independent designers that are catering the young, hip, fat, fashionable women like me and you I thought it would be a good idea to give you guys a little insight into the person behind the clothes as well as some information on some new spring lines.


31 year old CEO and designer of Monif C Plus Sizes, Monif Clarke has kicked down many plus size barriers and bust on to the mainstream with her amazingly versatile convertible dresses and various other bold, fashionable plus size items. Monif C Plus sizes has been featured on Runway shows like B.E.T's Rip the Runway and at last years first Full Figure Fashion Week. Monif C designs are not down played or boring; her designs help capture the adventurous plus size women that loves well designer, colorful clothes. I have had the Pleasure of owning a Monif C Plus Sizes dress and I love it. I can't wait to see what Monif C has planned for the Spring/Summer season but right now you can check out her new swim wear collection. Designer Interview Series: Angie Johnson of I Heart Norwegian Wood

This is part 2 to the designer interview series. Because there a whole new crop of independent designers that are catering the young, hip, fat, fashionable women like me and you I thought it would be a good idea to give you guys a little insight into the person behind the clothes as well as some information on some new spring lines.

29 year old Canadian designer Angie Johnson is best know for her Top Shop line and the cage skirts she sells via her etsy store, I Heart Norwegian Wood. Her designs extend beyond skirts to fringe necklaces and harnesses. The great thing about Angie’s designs is that for an $5 surcharge she will create custom versions of her designs to fit most sizes. I have had the pleasure of working with Angie on two pair of custom leggings and she has been more then helpful and accommodating in the process. I am very excited to see what Angie has planed for the spring/summer seasons. Her etsy shop is currently closed so she can work on new projects but, it should be reopened March 1, 2010.

Designer Interview Series: Nikki B of Decadent Designs

This is part 1 to the designer interview series. Because there a whole new crop of independent designers that are catering the young, hip, fat, fashionable women like me and you I thought it would be a good idea to give you guys a little insight into the person behind the clothes as well as some information on some new spring lines.

To start things off we have plus size clothing designer Nikki B of Decadent Designs. Nikki’s designs run the gamut, featuring everything from versatile, convertible jersey dresses to funky animal print headbands and clutches. Nikki’s designs look good on the conservative woman as well as the woman that likes to wear more daring fashions. Nikki debuts her spring line in March and I will be sure buy a piece or to and do a review. I heard on twitter that she was working on a convertible jumpsuit! Can we say excitement? I'm also looking forward to seeing Nikki's T-Shirt line and her awesome swim wear. Nikki has her own blog and YouTube channel so be sure to check those out.
