Boom in the Trunk Photos

Thursday, November 3, 2011

Boom in the Trunk is an amazing success and I can't thank you enough for coming out to support our featured bloggers, Rachel and myself. Everyone loved the gift bags, the DJ was great, the cupcakes were amazing, the photo presentation went well and the Samwell performance was awesome. Here are a few shots of the event taken by Josh slater, but there are tons of photos already up on www.boominthetrunk.com with more coming soon.

If you would like to use a picture for your personal social media feel free. If you are using them for your blog please link back to the Boom in the Trunk website and give photo credit to Josh Slater. If you are a magazine, newspaper, etc. please contact us before using these photos. I hope you enjoy them and thanks again to Josh Slater for all of the lovely shots.

Also, please excuse how casual my outfit is. I was running late for school and just threw on something simple. I kind of wish I'd looked more grand.

On Friday Ashely Stewart flew two other bloggers and myself out to New York for their Holiday photo shoot. We had so much fun. We watched their holiday photo shoot featuring model Tara Lynn, styled 3 looks each from their October collection, and did interviews. The looks we styled will be shoot on models soon and will appear on the Ashely Stewart Website with the line, "Shop this look styled by..." They'll also be sending me the looks, so I can show you how they look on me. I've including pictures below of my outfit and other pictures from the day.

Boom in the Trunk

Saturday, September 17, 2011

One of the reasons I had been missing in action for a while is because of the many projects I have going at once. Finally, the most time consuming of the bunch is ready to be announced and I couldn't be more excited. Boom in the Trunk is a plus size blogger/reader meet up featuring 5 great bloggers including my self. On October 27th from 7:00pm - 9:30pm guest of this event will be able to meet their favorite Chicago plus size fashion bloggers as well as enjoy great music, snacks, gift bags, and a photo presentation of Fall looks styled by me. I'm providing a limited amount of information here because for full details you must follow and visit www.boominthetrunk.com often. Right now you can find information on the bloggers attending and our sponsors, but as the event nears it will house even more details. For example, an in depth look at our sponsors offerings, coupons, and information on performers and DJ's. I'll also be providing links to Boom in the Trunk post on the social networks I use to grow Fat Shopaholic, so if you're following me on Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr you'll get the information.

Please RSVP on Facebook if you plan on attending and share this event as the opportunity presents it's self. We all hope to see at Beauty Bar October 27th!

Akira Plus Size Fashion Show

Yesterday I attended the Akira "Plus Size" Fashion Show. I wasn't planning on attending at first because I felt like I had just been going and going all week, but I'm glad I did. I was able to meet some internet acquaintances for the firs timet and see some friends I don't get to see often. So, needless to say I loved the atmosphere and people. There were also raffles, slushies , and champagne. My outfit is nothing special. Just a random assortment of things you've seen me wear before. The shorts from Torrid are the highlight and easily the most comfortable I've worn. They don't ride up when you walk which is amazing because I hate constantly stopping to adjust my outfit. Also, I don't know what my hair is doing...lol Oh, checkout the interview I did for Bigg Badd Wolf here

The Gold and the Beautiful Clothing Swap

Monday, February 21, 2011

My apologies for my pictures being late. An awesome photographer took some great photos of me and I was waiting to receive them, but since people have kept asking me how the swamp was I decided to just use pictures from my own camera. If I get them I will just do a photo set on Tumblr.

The swap was great. It was so great meeting everyone. I made some amazing contacts, so the next thrifting event we be even better. I tried on some awesome stuff as well. The steal of the night had to be an amazing black Anne Taylor cape with a leopard print fur trimmed hood. I will be wearing it as soon as the weather is in the 50's again. Speaking of weather the day of swap the weather was near 60 degrees at some parts of the day, so I decided to wear something a bit more colorful.

Credit for the photos of my outfit goes to Mitten Paws and the rest of the photos were taken by me.

I live for Jessica. There is a picture of us kissing somewhere on the internet. My moment for life! She also gave me lots of hugs to cheer me up because a family issue had me upset when I arrived. So sweet!
