It Ain't Trendy, But Almost!

Here I am back like I never left. I know it's been a few weeks, but I had a lot going on. For instance, I moved back to Chicago. I miss New York, but I like being home where I know the city; plus the thrifting is way better. I know that was random, but it's true. Every body is trying so hard to be cool, so they scoop up the good stuff first. Also, lots of people sell there clothes to vintage shops and vintage in New York is super expensive. I'm going thrifting with Britney tomorrow...wish us luck!

Anyway, before I left I went a army surplus store in the east village and picked up a army shirt(I wear it as a jacket). I love this jacket so much, I want to wear it every day. Its not exactly the military trend, but it is from some division of the arm forces. I paired it with shorts and sheer tights. The sheers were fine during the day, but the later it got the colder I got. It may be time to put these away soon. I added my leopard print belt/scarf and new ankle boots from Evans, and also, an elephant pendent I got from Christina. It makes me think of my granny(she lived for elephants), so I wear it all the time now.

Fame Movement Photo Exhibition

Today I went to a Fame Movement photo exhibition of plus size models. The event featured a interesting mix of people included lots of ladies clad in hip hugging dresses and various plus size models. Nicolette and Christina were there so I felt I little bit more at home. I also had the chance to enjoy wine, cheese, crackers, and score two copies of Crystal Rein's book hungry to give away soon. I could have enjoyed red velvet cup cakes, but to me red velvet taste like cough syrup and I don't eat icing. Christina and I wound up leaving kinda early though; neither of us were in the mood to sip wine while making conversations with strangers. Before we left I did manage to meet and exchange business cards with plus size model Tocarra Jones. She was super sweet.

For my outfit I threw on my go to pieces of shorts and leggings and added this glam sequin jacket from Simply Be. It's so 80's and I love it. I wanted to wear so many different things with it, but i didn't want to over power it, so I kept it fairly simple. Christina called me a hipster. I get that a lot...I don't know how I feel about it. Does liking ugly old lady clothes make you a hipster?

Fat Girl Sex and the City!

Today was another fun day hanging out with Christina and Britney. First we went to Pink Berry so that Christina could enjoy the yummy goodness for the first time!

Here's mine. It's Mango and Watermelon with mochi, kewi, watermelon, and Blueberries.

After that we went to the Hello Kitty store in Times Square. Pink + Christina = No Dice! 

Then we went to the Faith 21 Section in Times Square. Everyone was equally unimpressed. Christina and I met one of our lovely readers. Hey Girl! Next we stood outside for 15 minutes trying to hail a cab before I stalked someone until they got out of their cab and we took it. We made it to Cafeteria and I had the Mac N' Cheese sampler. I think the one with truffle oil was my favorite. Then I had the Fried Chicken and Waffle. It was mmmmm mmmmm good! 

On the way home Christina wanted to stop and take outfit photos. This isn't a outfit I would normally put on the blog, but I just had to much fun taking these pictures. 

These pictures really showcase Christina and I's love hate relationship. We love each other, but we "ride" each other jokily all the time! Also, I'm really touchy feely and most times she won't even me hug her.
