Can You Wear Asos Curve As a U.S. 24/26? Yeppers!!!

Saturday, January 30, 2010

When I first heard about the new Asos Curve range I was a bit disappointed because I heard the pieces would only go up to a U.K. 26 the equivalent of a U.S. 22. For those of you who don’t know I am normally at U.S. 24/26(though I think I may be losing weight. Not on purpose.) But, after some good advice I decided to give the pieces a shot. Today I’m going to show you two dresses; my other two pieces won’t be here until Monday. I had a hard time deciding on which pictures to include so, I included most of them!!!! Please let me know ladies, which look was your favorite. Here's a preview of things to come. Ain't I cute Gurl? LOL!

(I was dancing to Telephone by Lady GaGa and Beyonce!)

I love this floral and pok – a – dot dress. It feels really well made and it fits me perfectly. It doesn’t feel tight at all despite being one or two sizes lower then my regular size. There are so many ways to wear this dress. I added black leggings, a cardigan, and boots to mute the bright colors and make the look more winter appropriate. Then I just did some bare arm and leg photos to show how the dress can be worn when it’s really, really hot outside. And finally I paired the dress with an asymmetrical jean jacket from Evans to show how a jean jacket could work with the dress.

Here is another floral dress. I admit I’m going to need some shape wear for this in the future. The top portion fits well, but the hips are not open like the other dress I showed so it fits tight around my mid section. But I can deal with a little shape wear so I’m keeping the dress. I love this dress! I think it looked great with these cow boy like boots.

Tiffany, way cute! I love how you did the first dress with the denim jacket. That's how I'd totally rock it. I'm afraid of prints, but that makes it calm enough for me to wear. Beautiful! I'm just waiting for my monies so I can finally order a couple of pieces. I'm a size US 20, I was going to order UK22, is that about right? I was told that UK sizing is about a size smaller than US sizing.

THERE'S THE DRESS! Oh my god it suits you so well. You know what one I mean, on the fatshionista community LOADS of people kept commenting just about that dress on my ootd post and you rock it just as well - if not better than myself ;)! No, really, it's awesome. The second one is super pretty too, not my kinda thing (at the moment, perhaps when I have a bit more cash) and I thought it looked quite boring at first, but seeing it on you is making me have second thoughts!
God, girl, I love your outfits. The Evans jacket is really, really cute on you aswell! x

@NikStar On the label of my dress it says a UK 26 is the equivalent of a U.S. 22. I usually wear a U.S. 24/26 but, as you can see the Uk26 fit me well. Either clothes are just roomy or I'm losing weight.

@FatNurse Thank you so much. You are the coolest. Thanks for supporting the blog

@Jen You rock! You are a doll! I notice that you comment on everything and I appreciate it

I really like the second one with the belt. I'm also about a 24/26 but I definitely ordered my Evans dresses in the UK 26. One fit perfect, the other was snug so I think it depends on the fit and fabric like any store.

I love them both but the second one especially really suits you! Have to get my hands on one of these asos pieces one of these days. I'm trying to resist temptation, I love many of their pieces. Decisions, decisions!
