Here is a super quick video outfit of the day from a while back that I forgot to post. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures. My next outfit will have pictures though, so no worries.

Plus Size Formal Dresses

Spring and Summer are definitely the seasons for formal dresses. There is prom, weddings, and fancy garden partys if you're lucky. Looking through different websites and stores for the right dress can be difficult, but Plussizedresses.com has a great system that allows you sort through plus size formal dresses from different websites by size, designer, occasion, and style.

My favorite of the dresses offered is this Anna Scholz formal maxi dress.

This is the outfit that has become my everyday school uniform. In the fall my go to school outfit was jeans, a blouse, and blazer, but now that winter is in full effect in Chicago I have been wearing leggings, a ugly sweater, and sneakers. My love of ugly clothes is still going strong and I wanted to post a outfit wearing sneakers. I don't see a lot of fashion bloggers wearing sneakers, but I certainly think sneakers can be fashionable. I hope to show more outfits wearing them in the future.

The vest is something I picked up from Torrid on clearance in the summer of 2010 and it is one of my most loved pieces; I love the faded look it has gotten over the years. My favorite thing to do is to add some of different pins and brooches I collect to it. Two of my favorites right now are the African brooches I got from L L U L O. I love the statement the African American brooch makes. These brooches are good quality and they don't fall of my vest a lot. I did have to add some extra pins around the edges so it laid flat and didn't hang.

This is the final day of the Silver Jeans Co. Style Wars. For today's outfit I decided to do something super casual since my other two looks were a bit more dressy causal. I went for limited accessories and threw on a sequin jacket to add a little glam to the basic denim.

Today marks the beginning of a 3 post series in conjunction with Silver Jeans Co. For the next 3 days I will be showing you different spring looks that incorporate a variety of cuts and styles from Silver. These look are also apart of blogger style wars with Christina of Love Brown Sugar and Chase of Sample Size Sixteen. Facebook page and let them know you liked my look! I thought I'd start the week off with a bang and post the most fun look as well as my favorite. 

This outfit incorporates great textures and patterns like hounds-tooth, velvet and denim with darker elements like dark lips and creepers. I love how versatile the jeans are. Here I have them rolled down for more of a cropped look, but they can be cuffed for capris if you prefer.  If I had valentine this also what I would wear out for Valentines day.
